Beauties on beachfront
Beach-Loving Kiwis looking for a bargain slice of paradise have their choice of two jewels being offered for sale in the Bay of Islands next month.
The private, subdivided estate of Mataka Station, located on the Purerua Peninsula just outside Kerikeri, is a huge 1148ha of fully operational farmland. The largest lot a cool 53.5ha is to be auctioned on February 11 and the vendor instructions are clear this sanctuary is priced to sell.
The government valuation is $2.5 million, which Bayleys agent Michael Pleciak calls "a bargain". Other lots on the conservation estate have sold for more than $3 million in recent sales.
"It's a fantastic setting and the owner has been clear that he will meet the market price," said Pleciak. "The other lots have sold for significantly more and now have substantial homes built on them, so this would be a great opportunity for somebody."
Owners of the lot have access to the entire farm, which includes private beaches, boat launching facilities, hiking and horse riding.
